Vine Street Museum Roman Stele


A stele or tombstone from the early 200s BC with a Greek inscription from 40-80AD identifying the figures as Tiberios Claudios Aphrodisios (doctor) and his mother Demetria. It may have arrived in London as a souvenir from a Grand Tour during 1700s or 1800s. Found at 11-13 Crosswall, London. Now located in the Vine Street Roman Wall museum, London.
