The Charterhouse Gatehouse


The main inner gatehouse of the London charterhouse. It has a wide entrance arch for vehicles and a smaller one for pedestrians.

An arm of John Houghton (prior of the Charterhouse) was displayed above this gate after the dissolution of the monastries. (1535?)
