St John's Jerusalem Chapel


The eastern (chancel) section of the 13th century chapel of the commandery (or preceptory) of the Knights of St John Hospitaller at Sutton-at-Hone, near Dartford in Kent. The building is listed Grade II* and the site itself is a Scheduled Monument. The surviving medieval fabric is largely medieval of flint and ashlar work with subsequent post-medieval alterations including a reduction in the roof height, inserted stair access to the south elevation and internal alterations to floor and ceiling levels, and heating arrangements.
