Highbury Fields Tube Vent
A small round building disguising a ventilation shaft from the Victoria Line of the London Underground. Located in the playground at Highbury Fields.
The building contains toilets and an office for the playground warden. The vent itself is in the centre. Around the building is an elaborate mosaic by Magnus Irvin (http://www.magnusirvin.com/magnusirvin.com/magnus_irvin.html). Next to the building is a large heap of earth with a slide running down it. This earth was the spoil from digging the shaft.
Date: 1960s
Photos taken in June 2020 with a Sony a6000 and processed in Reality Capture.
Roof texture blended with Google Maps aerial photo because this area could not be photographed from ground level.
